Business Challenge
Malaysia has over 900,000 micro-SMEs and a growing freelance economy. Most use Excel or Word to create invoices manually, track payments in notebooks, and calculate taxes with mental arithmetic. A freelance graphic designer we worked with spent 6 hours/week on invoicing and payment follow-ups — time she could have spent on billable client work. Late payments were common because clients forgot payment deadlines without automated reminders. Tax filing was stressful because income records were scattered across WhatsApp messages, bank statements, and email.
